Run and a smile

This morning I dragged was pulled by Buckley on a walk while the weather was beautiful and the bugs were done with their morning devour. Josie was asleep, Mike was still in bed, and Buck and I were enjoying the day at 6:30 AM. I put in 2 miles alternating between running and walking and it felt so good. I had run the other day when my mom was up (we started as a walk and I tried it out) and realized it was mostly mental and I was perfectly capable. Mind you, I knew this but its nice to confirm it. I digress. This morning's run was encouraging. I used the length of the songs to push me along since I need goals set even by myself or I can't improve. I ran for 2 songs and walked for 1 a couple of times and then ended with a power walk the length of 2 songs. What were the songs? Only the greatest songs ever from Train's album Save me San Francisco. I love that album!! It has so many different types of songs that match different speeds of running. I'm a nerd like that and notice the little things. If a song has a great chorus, I use that to push me a long faster. If it is slower, I use it to catch my breath. Black Eyed Peas albums are also great for this.

Yesterday, I had Josie laying on the floor, first on her tummy, then on her back. We were "playing" as I like to call it and I decided to just start snapping pictures. Here is what I got:

Oh look who decided to wake up!

Lets get a closer look at that.

Thats a real smile!! I am so in love with that face.

I will fight you.

You aren't mad that I can kick your butt, are you?

Sometimes it is just as much fun to imagine what she must be thinking as it is to capture all these expressions.

Entertainment at its finest!

Bullet point lists are my favorite

  • I got an Iced Chai Tea today which I haven't had in at least 15 months. It was delicious down to the last drop and I regret not getting them more often. Actually, I should just stick with this when I am at Starbucks since nothing else ends up tasting all that good compared to Caribou Coffee. There. I said it!
  • We had another rough day at the home front. Josie goes in cycles. She'll be super happy and alert for 12 hours and then its like the evil twin appears. She's not so much evil though, just extremely fussy and crabby which is just lovely when I am with her for 24 hours a day. :) This cycle was due to end about an hour ago so we'll see if she's cheered up a bit after her 4 hour afternoon nap. (Which consisted of me holding her for 3 of the 4 hours since thats the only way she will sleep when in this mood... great for cuddling horrible for getting anything done)
  • My stops today consisted of Target and JoAnn's fabric. At Target we got some organization bins for Josie's room. Someday I really will get an update of what her room looks like. Maybe tomorrow that will be my goal.
  • I bought fabric for Josie's monthly photos. More expensive than I thought it would be so I better find multiple uses for it once the year is up! Then I experimented with photo editing to add the numbers to her onesies. Yeah right. We don't have sophisticated editing software so that was a no go. I ordered some from Etsy promptly after discovering this. BUT. now that it is all purchased, this should be fun!
  • I was going to go for a walk today. I got myself all excited, socks on, shoes out, and then I looked outside and noticed it was just starting to rain. Seriously?? Right when I got the ambition. And according to weather.com my chances are up for the day as it is supposed to rain for the rest of the night. Great....
  • I have been overheated all day and there is no solution. I blame hormones.
  • My house never seems clean at all. Its driving me nuts but I can't figure out how to keep it clean... maybe a schedule/chart will help? I'm going to research it.
Dinner tonight at the Deyle's... enjoy the storm everyone!

Oh this is not good.

This is what we saw when we got home... because Mike doesn't have enough to do this summer.

We went to the farm (Mike's family farm) this weekend and spent the afternnoon on Saturday with Mike's grandma and grandpa. They loved Josie and took turns holding her the whole time. Cute. :)

If you compare this man (Grandpa Deyle) to Mike's dad and Mike, you will see the same person in different generations. I love it... they look so alike.
It was a fun weekend. Super nice weather and some wonderful food as always. Back to the work week (for everyone else...tee hee).

Wednesday in picture form

Great day.
In other news... the fam came up on Wednesday and I got some shots of everyone giving all their love to Josie bear.
Grandma Lekang (I used to call my grandma that... so weird!)

Grandpa with his very own baby.

Buck needs some love too.

We do this daily.

We tried to capture her random faces... not the most flattering but funny nonetheless!

Is it wrong for me to let her cry for a sec just because her "cry" face is adorable??

Auntie loves her too...

favorite picture!

Favicon creation

I have to confess that I would have never thought of this on my own. I got the idea from fellow blogger Kelsey @ http://2010yearoftheblog.blogspot.com/. I didn't even know what it was.

I'm talking about the favicon. The icon at the top next to the address line. Most of the time for Blogger it is the big white B with an orange background... the blogger symbol... but I wanted my own after seeing her make her own!!

So go and look. Can you see it? I am so clever, I know, with that capital D. It stands for Deyle in case you weren't sure. I feel more artistic already.

It took me forever but really it should have been simple.

More exciting is that I can now blog from my phone (no I have not upgraded to a fancy iPhone or anything fun like that). I can send picture messages to my blog so you all can keep up with what Josie is doing right now! This could be bad...

Heels

Great news. My feet have finally returned to their previous size. I pushed my luck after getting everything on my list at Target (I didn't know how long I could push Josie's sleeping so well while out and about) and stopped by the shoes section on the way to the checkout. I was nervous to try shoes on since my fingers are still swollen and I can't get my wedding ring on yet.

I think my heart literally lept a little when the 8.5 fit! I tried on a couple, but then found a good solid pair of black heels that will work wonderfully when I go back to work. Lucky for me, I get to be in an office full time when I return, so I plan on wearing heels on a daily basis and my wardrobe needs some updating! All of my old shoes are stretched and worn out. I was overdue for new shoes before pregnancy, and then I pushed it and didn't buy any new shoes the entire 10 months. Who am I kidding though? My whole wardrobe needs an upgrade. One thing at a time.

Oh, did I mention I got these off the clearance rack for $17? Boring but perfect! Plain, smaller heel to avoid crazy pain, and professional. LOVE.

Word of the day: Push... I said it three times in this post! Sometimes my vocabulary is strangely limited.
