Ebay victory!

There are a couple of things that we don't want to pay full price for. One is the pack n play, although we still want the bassinet, changing table, and dangling toys which means it will be more pricey. The other is a baby bjorn.

We won a baby bjorn on Ebay for $17. How wonderful is that?? Lets just hope that it is as good as it sounds.

Mike wants one of these super bad. He loves the idea of being able to walk around and get things done while being on baby duty and getting quality time in. I agree, although I think the sling type thing would work great for me as an alternative.

Anyone have an extra cloth sling? I would love to borrow it and try it out... I don't really know what kind I want, and don't want to spend too much either.

Here is the pack n play we wanted on Ebay for about $75. Its worth a little over twice that and it is new even though the packaging doesn't look so great. Unfortunately we were outbid, but will keep looking for something similar.

What a relief that we could get the baby bjorn for cheaper before we do the big "Target" purchase this week! The deal with that is that I have a 10% off coupon to use on anything on our registry. I also want to get a Target card at the same time which would make it 15% instead. We want to get almost everything we will be needing all at once, but didn't know for sure if we needed everything brand new. These were the two expensive things we agreed we needed sooner rather than later but really didn't want to pay full price for. We still need to get a new video camera (Flip, anyone?) and a bunch of little things along with some furniture type things like shelves and baskets. It will add up, and 15% will help a lot!

I hope to get the coupon in the mail Monday or Tuesday. Sadly, I lost the original coupon for this and didn't figure it out until after I was in the store getting ready to get everything. I had to request a new one and it takes 10-14 business days. Why is that, you ask?? I have no idea. Why they couldn't email it to me, I have no idea! I asked the lady but the best thing she could respond with was "We don't have that capability available at the moment." Oh well, I still love me some Target (said with the French accent of course).

We'll keep looking for the pack n play...

39 weeks

Well it is really more like 39 1/2... but who's counting?

I have been having a lot of contractions, but nothing to take seriously yet (unfortunately). My doctor's appointment is at 11:30. Maybe we'll have some good news then!

In the heat of the moment last night, mid contraction, I decided that the baby's bag had to be ready now, so that was what I was doing while Mike was trying to go to sleep. Sorry hunny!

Checklist domination

1. Install carseat, get head pillow in place, and set up mirror. The mirror won't work in the trailblazer since the window is so far away... guess Mike will get to enjoy that feature in his truck... bummer for me...

2. Put in the car shades so baby isn't blinded for her first ride home.

3. Pack a bag for myself.

4. Pack a bag for baby girl.

5. Unpack baby things that are all boxed up and put boxes in garage (not garbage, just in case).

6. Get upstairs TV plugged in and set up (maternity leave should not = walking up and down stairs all day to watch tv while I feed baby and try to snooze, right?).

7. Put up paper flowers I got from our display at work

Ok so I didn't get everything done. But I made progress on packing and cleaning out the baby's room. The problem is that we have piles of things without homes, and nowhere to put them. So just getting one pile done is a huge accomplishment in itself. My revised goal is to get a pile done a night. Much less overwhelming and will keep me from getting antsy.

To enjoy the beautiful weather last night, Mike and I brought Buckley on a (slow) walk that really pushed my belly physically. It got so tight during the walk that we had to stop a couple of times. Then, last night as we were trying to sleep, my body went into what I will call Preterm labor. I for sure was having contractions but they weren't regular or as painful as I believe they will be. Nonetheless, Buckley must have been able to sense my discomfort because he came and laid by me during the 5 hrs I couldn't sleep. Yes, thats right. 5 HOURS. I think I got a good 3 hours in without being brutally waken up. No thank you, body, I don't need this kind of prep. The real deal will be fine, thanks.
