Last Thursday, I ran a mile in 11.11 minutes with the first two minutes being warm up aka walking. The cool thing is I ran at 6.5 for a while and averaged at around 6.0. Not impressive to you? Well just keep in mind that i a. never run on a treadmill and b. usually average at 5.5 or less.
After thinking about that run the rest of the night and the next day, I decided that running for people is just like running for horses. It's jerky and uncomfortable to run at a trot for long periods of time, but when the horse hits its stride and gallops, it is so much smoother and comfortable.
I've found my gallop.
I ran a 9.13 mile on Sunday. Read it again because it's pretty hard to believe. 9.13. I had to jump off and catch my breath a couple of times, but I definitely ran for the majority (97%) and now know how to truly push myself on that stupid old treadmill.
I'm back everyone!! I feel more myself now that I'm running again (although a mile every once in a while almost doesn't count... :) )
it most certainly DOES count my dear! a calorie burned is a calorie earned! love you :)
