Watching my daughter curl up on my shoulder/chest is the sweetest most heart tugging thing ever. Sometimes I will pick her up from her comfy bassinet just to sit like that for a while before she wakes up. Good thing she is a sound sleeper!

Daytime tv is addicting, but I definitely like that there is a built in break around 12-3!! Otherwise I'd be glued to this comfy loveseat with my computer at my side and my baby in my arms.

I figured out that I lost 25 lbs since Josie was born and I have a good 15 more to go before I'm comfortable with my weight/pregnancy gain. I'd love to lose more though but one thing at a time.

I joined Weight Watchers again, but haven't used it. I'll get into it again for sure but right now I am so focused on baby J that eating or overeating is not a struggle at all. I have so many fruits and veggies to inhale before they go bad that I haven't had time to indulge in junk. Exercising is another story...

I went for a great early morning (we're talking 5:30 AM) walk with Buckley yesterday, and thank you mosquitos for pushing me right along! There were so many that I was practically speed walking home just to get it over with. So that time is OUT of the question. My next attempt will be in the evening, hopefully with Mike and Josie (and Buck of course). But that means I might have to wait for Mike and he works late which would give me an excuse to skip it. I can't skip it!! I want to run again soon... Anybody know how long I should wait before putting my body through the first painful run? I realize its only been a week. I can wait and be patient, but I am a little excited to just get out there again. I've never been much of a walker.

Josie had a blow out today. And we're on to outfit number two. The funny part is that my sister was here, the same sister that has babysat kids for years. She could not handle it and practically through the girl at me while squealing about how gross it was. OOOH I cannot wait til she has kids and can't "pass it away" like that! (Don't have kids yet please!)

How can she grow so fast?? Everyday she looks a little bit different, and I swear she's growing right in front of my eyes. I can't stop staring at her. How did she come from me??

Laying on my shoulder (no nudity on this blog - lets be clear!)

I had a question asked about posts that I don't put up on facebook. I don't put all posts on there because I don't want to be annoying, so if you would like to make sure you see all of them (because obviously you live for them, right?) you can just follow by email. Over on the left side, right over there <---, is an option where you can put your email address in and my posts will get sent directly to you in email form. Pretty easy :)

Ok on to the pictures...

4th of July weekend

This weekend was full of visits and baby  time. I don't have any pictures of the first half of the weekend when my auntie's family was here since my camera was tucked away the first couple of days. Here are some pictures from the rest of the weekend.

There has not been one day yet that Josie and I have not ventured out and about. Target, Walmart, visit to Grandma and Grandpa, being at the lake... She's already getting used to adapting under the circumstances which is perfect for this mom!

Lets not forget about all the hours spent in nap mode since someone likes to be awake at night ... I mean awake. She's fun, but its not the same at 3 in the morning. My experiment with this is to wake her up and keep her up for the last two hrs of the day. Then, she sleeps like a rock and only needs to be fed 2 times instead of 3. During the day she just inhales food and sleeps while she grows like crazy. Did I mention, though, that my 9 lb 7 oz baby at birth is still wearing Newborns and they are still  too big? This girl is all arms and legs! Just like Daddy.

4 generations
Oh so flattering! Caught in the middle of some serious facial expressions!
The sun is not our friend! Our family is sooo white... we have got to teach her how to protect herself young
Quick uncover her for a picture

Can she be any cuter? I may be a bit biased... but lets be real. I'm not. She's that cute.
Romper! A little big but the cutest summery outfit ever - Thanks Auntie Lisa!
Sprawls out like Daddy when she sleeps
Weird Grandparents... Josie'll probably role her eyes at this one

What do you do when you're waiting for a baby?

 Mike's projects:
Chicken kabobs (delish)

Peanut butter cookies

Do you see the chaos of our tiny kitchen??

Sugar cookies

weird colors, I know!

For those of you wondering about the sugar cookies: I got them from Glamorous Newlyweds and they are quite tasty. But. (yes there is always a but). Sugar cookies and I are not friends. Not even a little bit. Here is what I learned:

1. When told to put something in the fridge, make sure you put some saran wrap around it. Otherwise you break things like fingers and wooden spoons. If you wait for them to warm up, bad things happen.
2. Don't let the cookies get too warm. Once the dough is on the counter, you have limited time! Don't waste it! I have never understood this til now. The dough will only get stickier and I will only get more upset. (There may or may not have been cookie dough on walls from spatula throwing)
3. If they are getting sticky (warm dough, remember?), dip the cookie cutter in flour so each cookie can separate from the rest of the dough. Works wonders.
4. If the dough gets warm, put a chilled cookie sheet  on top.
5. Use a small spatula (either dipped in flour or sprayed with cooking spray) to remove the cookie from the counter in tact. Its no fun to get a perfectly shaped cookie and then just destroy it trying to relocate it.
6. Give your husband a chance - he knows so many random tips!
7. Chilled frosting works just fine. Butter knives aren't my favorite but do the trick.

Do you have any more helpful tips for sugar cookies? I love them - decorating them, eating them, sharing them - but ickkkkk when there is trouble. I'm sure I'll get the courage to make them again... maybe next time I'm overdue? :)
